In so many of today’s churches, we are told what we need to do without being told how. We are told that we should accept the attacks of the devil and defeat without complaining or doing anything about it. We are sometimes expected to treat spiritual defeat as a measure of our spirituality. This is heresy! You can have an overwhelming victory (Rom. 8:37; I Cor. 15:57) through Jesus, if only you go after it. Don't forget that Jesus himself endured attacks and temptations from the devil. The devil prowls about the earth seeking whom he may devour. Whether we realize it or not, he has caused a significant hindrance in our lives and churches. The devil has lulled the church into a false sense of security and apathy. The mere fact that we don't see many signs, wonders, and miracles today is ample evidence of this. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. There is no reason why we can't experience the miracles written in the Bible TODAY!
God has called His people to be warriors, not cowards (Josh. 1:7-9; Rev. 21:8). Like or not, we are all on the front lines of battle. If you are warming a pew instead of overcoming the enemy and entering into the promised land, you are defeated. It is time to get out of that comfort zone and into the glorious victory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
