O GOD OF 24-HOUR MIRACLES, ARISE
Message Text: II Kings 6:24-33; 7:1-2
There was a terrible situation that confronted the people of Samaria during the reign of King Jehoram. The terrible situation was recorded in the book of 2 Kings 6:24-25:

  • 2 Kings 6:24 And it came to pass after this, that Ben-hadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. 
  • 2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
Benhadad king of Syria gathered his army together and besieged Samaria. The dictionary meaning of besiege is to bombard, or to assault, or to lay siege, or to close in on, and it is also to overwhelm. The people of Samaria were completely confined until an ass’s head was sold for eighty pieces of silver and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver. What a terrible situation. The bible also records that because of the scarcity of food, people started eating their children.
  • 2 Kings 6:28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. 
  • 2 Kings 6:29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.
This is wickedness of the highest order on the part of the Syrians against the Samarians. But a terrible situation like this calls for a cry onto the God of 24-Hour miracle to arise and do something. There was a cry that got to the attention of the God of 24-hour miracle and He responded through the mouth of Prophet Elisha.
  • 2 Kings 7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
For God is not a man that He should lie (Number 23:19). And it came to pass as prophesied by Prophet Elisha.
  • 2 Kings 7:16 And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.

Who is this God of 24-hour miracle?
He is the God of instant miracle.He is the God that doeth great wonders. (Psa 136:4) To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth foreverHe is the God of I am that I am that no power can resist (Ex. 3:14) Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.He is the God Jehovah, the One who has all the means, all the ways, all the knowledge, and all the powers to do what He wants to do.He is the absolute God, who has absolute control over all issues, all circumstances and all situations.He is the divine God, who creates something out of nothingHe is the Alpha and the Omega, the One who knows the end from the beginning.One can now answer a question of what it means to ask this God of 24-hour miracle to arise.
It means, one is asking Him to step in and change a contrary situation to good.It means, one is asking Him to step in and recover. To recover one’s health, one’s wealth, one’s marital destiny and so on.
  • It means, one is asking Him to step in and scatter the siege of the enemy.
  • It means, one is asking Him to step in and deliver from every evil hold.It means, one is asking Him to step in and glorify His name in one’s life.
  • It means, one is asking Him to step in and silence contrary voices rejoicing because of a terrible oppression.
  • It means, one is asking Him to step in and wipe away the tears.It means, one is asking Him to step in and crown him with a crown of glory.
God spoke to Moses about appearing to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by the name of God Almighty.
  • Exo 6:2 And God spoke unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 
  • Exo 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
God is saying here that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did not know Him by the name God Jehovah. It therefore implies that God’s appearance in a situation or to an individual will depends on some factors known to God alone. Now the question is when will God appear or arise for a person by the name God of 24-hour miracle?
  • When the cry of a person or people disturbs God.- 1 Sam. 9:16
  • When God wants to defend His interest in a person as He did for Elisha.-2 Kings 7:1
  • When God wants to show His power. – Ex. 9:16,18
  • When God wants to deliver the enemies into the hands of a beloved.- Joshua 11:6
Please pray the following prayers with all your heart
  1. O God of 24-hour miracle, arise and destroy the satanic siege that wants to shake my faith in you, in the name of Jesus.
  2. O God of 24-hour miracle, arise today and scatter the satanic siege confronting my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
  3. O God of 24-hour miracle, arise in the situation of my life and turn my sorrow to joy, in the name of Jesus.
  4. I receive divine assistance to overcome the siege of the powers of darkness against my life, in the name of Jesus.
  5. I receive divine instruction that will guide me to the fulfillment of my divine destiny, in the name of JESUS.
  6. I receive divine guidance that will lead me to my promised land, in the name of Jesus.
  7. I receive divine intervention that will silence my enemies forever, in the name of JESUS.
